2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Series Overview

The 2011 Ram 1500 Series offers four
different models to choose from with a variety of features and upgrades.
Dodge Ram trucks are known for their durability and marketed as hard
working trucks. The Ram 1500 Series is the most awarded Ram ever, giving
them professional credibility as well as consumer satisfaction.

Models – The 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Series is available in four different models including:

• Outdoorsman
• Laramie Longhorn
• Sport
• SLT
• ST

Base Model – The base model is equipped with a 5.7 liter HEMI
V8 boasting up to 390 horsepower and 407 foot pounds of torque. They use
a multi-link rear coil suspension to offer a comfortable and durable
ride. True to the Ram series, they offer a great towing capability with
Dodge’s standard Trailer Sway Control feature. The exterior takes on a
tough look with bulging hood and aggressive grill. Upgrades include wrap
around chrome bumpers. The interior is already well-equipped but offers
a variety of technology upgrades for convenience coupled with brute

Outdoorsman – The Outdoorsman model takes the place of the TRX
and offers a variety of off-road features. With a two-tone paint job
you get a great looking appearance, but the Mineral Gray lower half
gives a smooth look without the bright look of chrome. This keeps the
truck subtle to avoid scaring off wildlife. There are also many
upgrades, including 115-volt power inverter and upgraded light package
to aid in all outdoor adventures.

Laramie Longhorn – These models are the new King Ranch edition
with ultra-luxury on the inside and other features like a spray-on bed
lining to help protect the truck even more. While it comes with the V8
HEMI, it’s also available in Cummins Turbo Diesel. This model comes
standard with a premium audio system, navigation system, saddle-back
seat backs, rugged floor mats and snap-in Berber carpet. Basel Model

Sport – The Sport model offers many of the standard features
and available upgrades, but with a crew cab edition. The same durable
truck with room for a couple more. Base Model MSRP $34,800

SLT – The SLT also offers many of the same features and
upgrades with a quad cab. While not a full crew cab, you have extra
seats for when you need them and a bit of storage for when you don’t.

ST – The ST is a regular cab version of the 1500. The same
interior, exterior and upgrade options are available. Base Model MSRP
$21,510

Fuel Economy – The 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Series offers an
overall 14/20 MPG, but varies depending on the engine and workload. They
also tout the 4.7 liter V8 can run on E85 Ethanol, but this can take
your MPG down by 30%. 

Safety – Dodge uses a number of advanced safety features including:

• Anti-lock brakes
• Electronic stabilizing features to reduce engine power with variance in steering
• Trailer sway control
• Hill start assist
• Brake assist

Industry Reviews – While most of the reviews of this series
approve of the changes made from the 2010 series, some feel the price
tags are a bit hefty, especially after potential features are added on.
