Deeper details on the 2013 SRT Viper leaked
Even though the Chrysler Group hasn’t offered full details
on the 2013 SRT Viper, company documents obtained by Allpar have revealed previously
unknown details on the new Mopar supercar.
This includes a basic rundown of the standard features of the Viper and
the Viper GTS along with color choices and a pair of upgrade packages.
The “entry level” 2013 SRT Viper will be available in
yellow, black, adrenaline red or shadow blue pearl with the wheel option shown
above in either polished aluminum or a unique Rattler Matte Painted Aluminum
finish. The SRT Viper will also include
the unique 6-opening hood with a front scoop that feeds the 640 horsepower,
8.4L V10 engine. Inside, the SRT Viper
comes with standard cloth race styled seats with 6 way power controls in the
buyer’s choice of black, red or tan. A
suede and Nappa leather upgrade package is available along with a premium Sabelt
Nappa full leather option for those who want the most luxury in their
Viper. The SRT Viper will come with a
standard 9-speaker stereo system but audiophiles can opt for a pair of upgrade
systems featuring either 12 or 18 speakers – both of which feature four
subwoofers and a Logic7 surround sound control system. Having been in the new Viper, I can imagine
that the 18 speaker system must absolutely boom in the tight cockpit. The interior can also be upfitted with bright
red three point racing harnesses.
Options for the 2013 SRT Viper include a carbon fiber
styling package that adds style inside and out along with painted dual stripes
that are added before the clear coat for a longer lasting finish. Viper owners can also opt for the SRT Touring
Package and the SRT Track Package. The
SRT Touring Package begins by adding an 8.4″ touchscreen display that
integrates a collection of high tech features including a rear backup camera, a
Uconnect Media Center, AM/FM/HD/satellite radio, traffic information, Travel Link,
Bluetooth phone integration and 3D graphics navigation with voice control. The SRT Touring Package also adds a cup
holder. The SRT Track Package adds StopTech
lightweight drilled and slotted two piece rotors tucked under lightweight black
wheels and high performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires measuring 275-35ZR-18 up
front and 355-30ZR-19 out back.
The 2013 SRT Viper GTS builds on the standard SRT Viper starting
with the same basic exterior color options but then adding white, Stryker red
tinted pearl, gunmetal grey, and GTS blue.
The 2013 Viper GTS has two wheel options (one 5 spoke and one 6 spoke
design) which are both available with a polished aluminum, matte black or a
glossy black finish as well as coming with or without painted wheel pockets. The Viper GTS also includes a unique hood
with the front facing hood scoop and two larger openings flanking that scoop. On the inside, the Viper GTS comes with race
styled seats wrapped in a standard suede and Nappa leather design in black, red
or tan with a similar 6 way power control to the one found in the base
Viper. Those who want a more plush
interior in their new GTS can upgrade to the Sabelt SRT Laguna Premium leather
option that is available in either black or sepia. The Viper GTS comes with a standard 13
speaker sound system but an optional 18 speaker system (the same from the base
Viper) is also offered.
Options for the 2013 SRT Viper GTS include the carbon fiber
trim package, the 3-point racing harnesses and the dual racing stripes in a
variety of colors along with the SRT Touring Package and the SRT Track Package. GTS buyers can also opt for a carbon fiber
hood with six ports, similar to the one on the base Viper.
