Having you ever been driving your Dodge or Ram and suddenly you noticed an unreasonable spike in the engine coolant temperatures and since you weren’t close to home, you were forced to call a tow truck to get your vehicle somewhere safe? What if I told you that you could have cooled the engine of your Dodge down simply by turning on the heat? It might sound crazy, but when your car or truck is overheating, turning the heat on full blast can help to bring the engine temperature down in a hurry.
You might be asking yourself why turning the heat on full blast might help cool down your Dodge and the explanation is quite simple. When the heating system is active, the heat of the engine coolant is what helps heat the air blowing into your cabin and whenever you “use” the heat from the coolant, the coolant is effectively cooled down before heading back into the engine block.
