FCA Announces Split From Weiden + Kennedy Ad Agency

Of all the auto news to report, why would you think this is important? Well, Weiden + Kennedy created some of the most iconic Dodge and Chrysler ads from the past half decade. The ones you remember are insurmountable.

There’s “Don’t Touch My Dart,” with the humorous approach to a car’s first scratch, a recent take on the Dart’s new foray into the public eye.

In “Freedom,” George Washington himself drove up against the British line of fire with confident intimidation. It includes the epic line: “There’s a couple of things America got right: cars and freedom.”

One of Weiden + Kennedy’s first FCA ads focused on another icon that came from Detroit: Eminem. Though we might forget the Chrysler 200 in terms of being a ground-breaking car, the advertisement was evocative of the American spirit of being able to overcome adversity and do better with the circumstances that surround us. The ad even won an Emmy for Outstanding Commercial.

I’ve also decided to showcase my favorite: “Predators.” In this new era of FCA, Dodge’s intimidation comes out full force.

What an awesome partnership, and a shame to see it dissolve. Make sure to check out more of their ads here, then let us know which is your favorite.
