A few weeks ago we got our first look at the official
pricing for the 2013 SRT Viper and the Viper GTS but the Chrysler Group has now
offered up all of the pricing for the various options – showing just how much
customization is available with the new Mopar supercar.

Just to revisit the pricing of the cars themselves, the 2013
SRT Viper begins at $97,395 while the higher performance and more luxurious
Viper GTS starts at $120,395.  Neither of
those prices include the $1,995 destination fee nor do they include the gas
guzzler tax that will be applied to the Viper once final fuel economy ratings
are announced.  The gas guzzler tax for
the 2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 is $1,000 so we can expect the 2013 Viper to
include additional fees of at least that much.
A gas guzzler tax of $1,200 and the $1,995 destination fee bring the
base price of the SRT Viper to $99,795 while the Viper GTS could start around $123,590
– neither of which includes the seemingly inevitable dealership markups.

There are three standard color options for both the 2013 SRT
Viper and the Viper GTS; Adrenaline Red, Black Venom and Bright White.  Adding $1,000 to the bottom line gets both
new Vipers three more colors including Race Yellow, Shadow Blue Pearl and Gunmetal
Pearl while Viper GTS buyers can also select GTS Blue for that same grand.  Stryker Red Tinted Pearl is a late
availability color and pricing for that shade will be announced later on.

Once you have picked your 2013 SRT Viper package (base or
GTS) and the exterior color, buyers of either new Viper get their choice of 3
stripe packages.  The standard SRT Viper
gets Billet Silver, Black Venom and Gunmetal for an additional $4,500 while
Viper GTS buyers can pick between the same three colors but the stripes cost
$5,000 for the GTS models as they are much larger stripes than the ones that
come on the SRT Viper.

Next, it is onto the wheels where the 2013 SRT Viper
features a standard polished Five-spoke “Rattler” wheel design but for $1,100
more, Viper buyers can pick a Hyper Black or Matte Black finish.  2013 SRT Viper GTS buyers can also opt for
the polished Rattler wheels for $500 extra while either of the two black
options cost $1,100.  The standard wheel
option on the Viper GTS is the Six-spoke “Venom” with a polished finish but as
is the case with the SRT Viper Rattler wheel – Hyper Black or Matte Black can
be added for $1,100.  Finally, the 2013
SRT Viper equipped with the Track Package wears the Multi-spoke Sidewinder II
wheel which comes in standard Hyper Black but Matte Black can be added for
$500.  The Track Package for either 2013
Viper costs $3,500.

The stereo choice is the next decision as the 2013 SRT Viper
comes with a standard 9-speaker system although buyers can step up to an
improved 12-speaker sound system for $1,995 and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon
system adds $2,995 to the total price of the “base” Viper.  The 2013 SRT Viper GTS comes with the 12-speaker
system standard with the 18-speaker Harman Kardon being offered for an
additional $1,000.

Sabelt sport seats with a black “premium ballistic covering”
are standard in the 2013 SRT Viper while Nappa Leather can be added for $3,000
in Black, Red (not available with Race Yellow Vipers) or Caramel.  The Sabelt sport seats wrapped in Nappa Leather
are standard in the Viper GTS but if the $7,500 GTS Laguna Interior Package is
selected, the seats, doors and headliner are finished in either Black or Sepia SRT
Laguna premium leather.

Finally, in addition to the GTS Laguna Interior Package and
the Track Package, standard SRT Viper buyers can opt for the Grand Touring
Package for just $2,500.  This adds all
sorts of interior gadgets including an upgraded infotainment system, HD radio,
backup camera and a cupholder.  The
contents of this package are standard on the Viper GTS.

Last but not least is the SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition which
begins with a unique exterior scheme of GTS Blue with Bright White painted
stripes (the color is available on other models but the white stripes are not)
with polished aluminum five spoke “Rattler” wheels.  Inside, the Launch Edition packs the Laguna Interior
Package, the 18-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, unique Stryker logos inside
and out with a blue background, a VIN matching dash plaque on the dash and a
white and blue dust cover from Mopar.  These
special edition models will come on the first 150 examples of the 2013 Viper
GTS for the added price of $15,500.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
