As you could imagine, the biggest state of them all represents a pretty significant chunk of all pickup truck sales. Therefore, the Lone Star State just got another shiny new truck named after them.

Even more fitting, the unveiling took place at the world-renowned State Fair of Texas, where huge cows, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, and of course—big Ram trucks are the norm. Ram not only unveiled this new edition, but also new-for-2017 updates to three of their best selling and most popular models, the Lone Star, Laramie Longhorn and Limited Ram trucks.

“The Ram Lone Star Edition is the original Texas truck,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “It’s impossible to overstate the significance of the role Texas plays in the pickup truck segment. At the same time, Ram trucks are an iconic part of the Texas landscape. As the longest-lasting truck in Texas, there are literally millions of Ram pickups still on the roads.”

A luxury grille, chrome body moldings, chrome wave mesh inserts, chrome mirrors, side steps, front tow hooks, and polished 20-inch wheels are some of the new premium upgrades to this new Texas-honorary truck. Oh, and how could you forget special Texas-sized badges, which are actually made out of milled-aluminum.

When it comes to new-for-2017 upgrades for the trims mentioned above, Keyless Go, SmartBeam headlights and rain-sensing wipers are now standard. A new optional Ram 1500 Night Package has also been released, which gives truck owners a blacked-out look straight from the factory.

As with most Texas edition trucks, these will only be sold in Texas, but if you want one badly you can always buy it in Texas and register it back at home.
