The Mopar 14 Dodge Challenger R/T went on sale on April 1st and by midday on April 2nd, the bespoke and limited edition Mopar muscle car was completely sold out. It took less than two business days for Mopar fans around the country to quickly order all 100 examples of the Mopar 14 slated for production but based on how awesome this customizable, limited edition Challenger R/T is – I am not all that surprised that it took just over a day for the company to sell all 100 units.
“The very high demand for the Mopar ’14 Challenger spotlights the success of our limited-edition, Mopar-modified vehicles, and also clearly demonstrates the passion our customers have for personalizing their rides,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “Whether during or after the ordering process, Mopar is there to help put a personal touch on customers’ rides.”
The Mopar 14 Dodge Challenger was available in either Pitch Black or Bright White and of the 100 units sold – 52 chose black and the other 48 chose white. The Shaker hood striping package was the most popular of the three available striping options while the most commonly selected Mopar accessory items ordered included the Mopar hood pin package, Mopar Performance badges, quad exhaust tips, the Dodge Challenger monogrammed car cover and the Mopar Performance cat-back exhaust system. The good news for all of those folks hoping to purchase a Mopar 14 is that while the factory-built Mopar 14 Challenger is sold out, pretty much every component of the package is available through the Mopar Performance catalog. This means that any 2014 (or previous) model year Dodge Challenger R/T can be converted to look just like a Mopar 14…it just won’t have the same collectable value. Also, the Shaker hood is not currently available, but Mopar officials stated that it would soon arrive to the catalog provided that the Challenger Shaker and Mopar 14 proved to be popular enough. Considering that the Mopar 14 took just over a day to sell out while the Challenger Shaker sold out in 4 days, I would think that the Shaker hood system is definitely popular enough to offer to other Challenger owners.
The Mopar ’14 Challenger shows that when combining a legendary car like the Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker and making it even more exclusive, we create collectible performance machines unlike anything else on the road,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge Brand. “From the Mopar ’14 Challenger to the new Scat Pack performance stage kits available on Challenger, Charger and Dart, you can continue to expect great things when Dodge and Mopar team up.”
