Mopar Muscle Thursday: Dodge Charger R/T Runs High 9s in the Quarter Mile
A while back we featured the Superbird-like Dodge Challenger SRT8 that had been stolen in Southern California. Fortunately, that car has been recovered by the police but the attention garnered by the shop who was robbed of that incredible Mopar muscle car – Spankin Time Racing – has an impressive collection of high performance Mopars in their stable. This week’s Mopar Muscle Thursday takes a look at one of those sick Mopars, showing a 5.7L Hemi powered Dodge Charger R/T roaring down the quarter mile in the 9 second range.
While the vast majority of very fast modern Mopars featured here on DF are SRT products, this 9 second Charger is powered by a fully forged 5.7L Hemi topped by a 3.6L Kenne Bell supercharger with 18-22 pounds of boost creating enough power to push the brawny 4-door muscle car down the quarter mile in the high 9 second range. To be exact, this Charger R/T ran through the traps with a time of 9.836 seconds and a speed of 143 miles per hour. Crank up your speakers when watching as this boosted Charger sounds awesome. Enjoy!
