Mopar Muscle Thursdays: The General Lee Charger Drifts
Thanks to the high flying Duke Boys, there are few things that we haven’t seen a 1969 Dodge Charger do on the roads of Hazzard County but since drifting was really invented yet when Bo and Luke tore up the ‘shine running scene, we have never really seen the General partake in the sport of drifting.
This video shows a 1969 Dodge Charger clad in the familiar orange #01 paint scheme of the General Lee on a dedicated drift course. According to the information with the video, this car is piloted by Italian drifter Federico Sceriffo and judging by how gingerly the car is being driven – I would guess that it is not his and this is his first time attempting to get it sideways through the turns. Ive seen Vaughn Gittin Jr climb into a stock Mustang GT and put on a show that could win an event so Im guessing that if the General Lee shown in the video really isnt driven by a professional drifter, he is going easy on the car.
In any case, this video offers a good look at a 1969 Dodge Charger in action as it slips and slides its way through a long course of hydro barriers – with the sweet roar of a Mopar V8 accompanying the entire video so make sure that your speakers are cranked up and enjoy!
