Photo of the Week: goldduster’s 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T
Due to the fact that the vast majority of our members either own newer Dodge cars or Dodge/Ram pickups, we don’t feature a great many classic Mopars on the DF front page but if we had more members with cars like the 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T shown above – we would have a whole lot more old school muscle on display here. While not everyone will love the Y2 Yellow exterior paint, there is no question that this is one great looking Dodge muscle car.
From front to back, top to bottom, this ’69 Dodge Coronet R/T is a rolling piece of automotive artwork. The mix of Y2 Yellow with the black tail stripe, the black vinyl roof and the super clean Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in old school raised white letter tires, this car looks as great as it did on the day that it rolled off of the assembly line over 45 years ago. There isnt any detail on the drivetrain but the fact that there is an interior shot showing a clutch assembly and a manual transmission bell housing, I would guess that this will be a 4-speed car and the logos on the dual scoops appear to say 440. In other words, this 1969 Coronet R/T will pack a high performance big block V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission for what im sure is extremely exciting gear-banging fun.
