In the world of automotive self maintenance, there are few jobs that can be performed as easily as changing your own oil – particularly in a 2nd generation Dodge Ram pickup. Unlike some vehicles that sit low enough where you have to fuss around with jacking them up and such, the Ram (in stock form) sits high enough that you can just crawl under and do what you have to do. Thanks to that, Ram owners really only need a wrench, a drain pan, the oil and filter to save themselves some cash by changing their own oil.
This week’s featured oil change DIY is done by BadStratRT on a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport regular cab with the 5.9L Magnum V8 and an automatic transmission but the steps in this oil change DIY should apply to pretty much every gasoline powered Ram built from 1994 to 2001.
