While a well driven 2011 Ford Mustang GT with the 412hp 5.0L V8 should easily beat out the average 2011 Ram 1500 Quad Cab in a quarter mile drag race – the Mustang in the video below is not well driven and the Ram is not your average Quad Cab pickup. Thanks to a host of performance modifications in the Ram and a (crappy) driver in the Mustang GT, this video offers us a great look at what can happen to a muscle car in the hands of someone who doesn’t know how to drive.
Of course, the Mustang GT in the video loses because it is poorly driven, running an elapsed time of just 14.86 seconds but we should focus on the fact that this big, heavy Quad Cab Ram 1500 ripped down the quarter mile with a time of 13.898 with a very good 60 foot time of just 1.91 seconds. This Ram isnt equipped with any really substantial modifications but the inclusion of a HemiFever tune, a 3,000rpm torque convertor, shorty headers, an 87mm throttle body, a free flowing exhaust system and a set of 17” drag radials impressively hurdle this 3rd gen Ram comfortably into the 13 second barrier while also hurdling into our hearts after putting this Mustang in its place.
