This week’s Truckin’ Fast Wednesday features a truly unique Dodge Ram roaring down the quarter mile. This is a 1977 Dodge Ram D200 regular cab long bed pickup with a turbocharged 440 cubic inch big-block Mopar V8. The set-up allows this big ol’ Ram to make some very serious power – enough power to rocket this truck down the quarter mile in the high 8 second range with trap speeds in the range of 165 miles per hour.
When I first stumbled across this turbocharged ’77 Dodge Ram, it was a video showing the truck doing a burnout and moving out at a pretty good pace along the quarter mile but it didn’t show what the truck ran and – honestly – it didn’t look all THAT fast. However, when I got to digging through more videos of this killer Ram, I found the video below showing this marvel of Mopar performance digging well into the 8 second range with a stunning trap speed of 165 miles per hour.
While it is becoming more and more common to see highly tuned Dodge Ram pickups at the drag strip, very few of them are Truckin’ Fast enough to get anywhere near the 8 second barrier. This is one amazing truck so crank up your speakers and enjoy!
