Default What's the Oil capacity for a 4.7 in a Ram 1500

Hey all I'm in the Cat pan as most of you know, so the wife went Jiffy lubefor an oil change then she told me how much it was, I was like WTF!! It was $79.99 because it was the "Signature service with full synthetic oil". $10.00 of the cost was for a truck wash, but $66.99?? I had told her to get a Synthetic blend oil change. But what can you do she was only doing what I asked here to do and got her with the Full synthetic.
First off let me say we have been well taken care of at Jiffy lube the few times we have went there while I'm gone. Or else it’s my job when I’m home plus I like doing it.
So I email the Jiffy lube hotline and asked why it was so much and I get a nice reply that outlined all the different levels of prices and oil services from $31.99 to 66.99. Here’s the kicker he tells me how many quarts each is and how my "Brandie" only took 4.5 quarts, again WTF. I could have sworn that with filter it was 6 quarts of oil. Am I wrong or still numb from the cost of only 4.5 quarts of house brand synthetic oil and an oil filter, or just worried for no reason?? I do understand they are in the business to make $$ but $66.99, and not even the right amount of oil?? Again they did take care of my "Brandie" and my wife very professionally Istill have the emailhe sent for proof and I will be asking her what the receipt says when I call her Dam, $66.99 must really be gold in that thar oil.

My 2004 take 6 qts. Her in north central WV at advance auto Mobile 1 goes for about $6 bucks a qt. and a K&N filter for around $14. So thats roughly 50.00 in supplies. I would definatly have your wife check the oil level to make sure it isn't too low. If it is I'd have her take it back to Jiffy Lube with the reciept and have them put the other 1.5 qts in at there cost. I'm sure they would rather do that instead of having to pay for a new engine.

I was out of state one time and I used them to get it done fast. Will never do that again. I had a chevy and after they were done I checked the oil, looked down and it still had the same oil filter on it. They never changed it. brought it to their attention and they said they did. I asked them when they started using gm auto parts (oil filters)on all of thier oil changes. They refunded my money and I went on. Later found out that store was on the news for using recycled oil. I would stay away from Jiffy Lube and only take to the dealer. Most likely they never changed your filter to save money and time.

why would you get a synthetic blend??? full synthetic is better to boot and honestly 66 bux doesn't sound all that terrible. for good synthetic oil I spend easily 6 bucks a quart for mobil 1. six quarts of that will cost about 40 then 12 for a filter ur at 52 bux right there. plus a bit for labor. doesn't sound like a bad price at all. but if they only filled that thing with 4.5 quarts then you got a fwe problems.

Shame on Jiffy Lube for ripping off a service family and THANKYOU for serving your country! We have a local "quick lube" chain here and except for the inevitable mistakes, they do very well. Personally, I would not take my Ram or my C to the dealer to get air in the tires, much less real work, for no other reason than an oil change can take half a day. Folks say "take it to the dealer" for that stuff. Well, they hire the same minimum-wage gum-chewing mouth-breathers as the quick-change places. No way they're gonna have an ASE-certified master technician changing oil. He's in the next bay rebuilding a transmission. Find a quick lube place (NOT JIFFY LUBE, from what I've read and heard) and establish a business relationship with them, but also be aware of what they should be doing and what it should cost. To close, KUDOS to your wife for takin' care o' your ride, even if she did get burned a bit. Oh, by the way, the place I go to charges $36 to change the seven quarts in my C.
