Well like it asys I keep hearing a clicking under the hood. Almost sounds like an old school typewriter. It comes and goes and does'nt seem to have any rhyme or reason to happen. Thanks
I have a noise that sounds like that when I first start it up, goes away after it warms up, but cant hear it from inside the truck, only when walking past the front. I think it may be in my tensioner pulley, but its not a concern at this time.I dont seem to have any play in the pulley so maybe fan clutch? Keep me posted if you find out what it is!
the clicking and squeeking when you warm up is usually a tensioner pulley or a idler pulley. You should remove the belt and spin them both and try to figure out what it is. If you do not fix them, they will eventually lock up and cause the belt to break, and cause the truck to run hot.
I would look at the pulleys or the tensioner like perviously stated. If it sounds like its cycleing then maybe the AC compressor. Another bet would be the Lifters like previously stated. All of these are great areas to start and none of them require a great deal of diagnosis to rule out or in for that matter
