no fuse involved with the power steering system, sounds like your pump has pumped it's last day...

If you have a local autozone/advanced auto check out their price, they usually keep them in stock and the price is pretty good. Also i recomend checking out your lines/cooler(fins) in the process, and replacing the ones that need to be, no use having to come back and drain the system etc etc twice.
I am having the same issue. Just started today on my wifes 01 durango. The steering is very tight, difficult to turn or bring tires back to straight ahead. Is there any way to test the pump instead of replacing it.? Any other ideas?

OK. Checked the power steering fluid today. It was a little low so I topped it up, I don't think that was the issue because the fluid was just at the add point of the dipstick. Maybe an ounce of fluid to top up. When I run the engine the pulley is spinning with the belt and with the top off the resevoir I can see the pump moving fluid in the resevoir. What else can I check? I don't see any fluid leaks.

It could be an internal leak in the pump or the rack,or even a line got crimped over etc....As a last ditch try before replacing the pump---Take or drain some fluid out and try Lucas Power steering sealer most auto parts places have it...That stuff has brought dead pumps back as long as you see some circulation with the motor running.
