We also just bought a 2008 Caravan. We recently had an issue where we were not getting any sound, but also the touchscreen froze up at the same time. We could not get anything else to work. When we shut the van off for aboout 10 minutes and turned it back everything worked fine. It has not happened since, but I'm wondering if you had a similar issue with the touch screen. I have a couple of friends that have 2008's. i will ask if they are having any issues. Good Luck.
