Default couple of questions

i am looking to buy a car and i have a few options. i no i want to beef up the engine a bit and im definatley buying a car from the big three, most likely dodge because its al my family has ever owned, and they seem to age well. i was looking at a 2.4L 1996 dodge stratus and i was wondering a few things. how much would it cost to change the trany to a manual? where can i find aftermarket parts online for it? and if i buy a super charger or a turbo, will it be beneficial to add a short ram or cai?

Well, from my experience the first gen strats are pretty reliable. i'm pushing on 150,000 now. As far as wanting to make it more powerful, the 2.4 responds really well to forced air injection. A cai is never a bad idea with a turbo either. As far as swapping the Auto for Manual, I personally don't think it's worth the effort to do it. It involves chaning the computer, and many other things. It't not just taking the A/T out and putting the M/T in. The time spent changing it (has anyone successfully done this on anything but a civic??) You can probably keep looking, and find a 2.4 m/t long before you finish the swap.

well i heard something on another forum of problems when a cai and a turbo r installed at the same time, but i dont no how that is. and i cant find a turbo kit for a 96 2.4L stratus online, only blow off valves and intercoolers. i no homemade turbos r possible, but how do i make them? or can someone show me somewhere online where i can buy a turbo?

a homemade turbo? perhaps you mean a turbo with custom piping. very possible. you'll need to replace the headers and exhaust manifold. I have the 2.5v6, so i can't be much help as far as what is compatible. I know our strats share with the mitsubishi's, my v6 from the Galant line, not 100% sure, but i think the 2.4i4 is from the eclipse.
