Have an 03 Dodge4 door, with the 20" wheel package, My truck seems to ride like it's a 3/4 ton truck, does anyone have any ideas as how to soften up the ride?

Perhaps a change of shocks might be in order. I just ordered a set of Bilsteins for my '04. Another thought is the amount of rubber between the street and the wheel. With 20s, seems like the tire choices are more in the category of low profile tires. That's one of the reasons I opted to not order mine with the 20s.

Got to agree with Mazz, must be the tires. I have 17's and constantly get compliments on how nice it rides for a Truck. Bilsteinsare a great choice but pricey.

Consumer reportdid a review and said the Dodge rode rough with the 20" cartoonish tires. It does make a difference. However,I love the height the cartoonish tires give and I get alot ofcompliments on them. Like "wow it's got 20's on them,no truck comes with them". However, it also affects the turning radius. I can't turn as sharp.

My truck has 20's on it but it rides better than my friends 03 model. The only difference is that his truck came with the goodyear eagle tires and mine came with goodyear wranglers. His tires are wider and lower profile and mine are a little skinnier and what appears to be taller. Tires do make a big difference! MS

I find this entire discussion rather strange. I mean it's a truck. It's gonna ride like a truck. If you want something that rides smooth get a car. Besides I have a 04 QC w/the 20's and I find the ride not all that bad.

My '04 QC 4x4 w/20" wheels is the best riding truck I've ever
owned. I suspect Mississippi has a point about less rubber giving
a rougher ride. My truck has 60-series tires on it, which is a
good balance between sporty and functional. Do you know the specs
of your stock tires?
More rubber is your best bet. Changing the shocks may affect your handling and/or load carrying ability.

Kiteman have you recently overloaded your bed? I did in my 02 quad 4X4 w/20's. Take it back to the dealer, your rear shocks are probably loose. P.S. if you did overload it don't tell the dealer.....

RE: 03 Dodge Quad/ Rough ride
Sorry for taking awhile to get back, my password wasn't working. The Tires are Goodyear Eagle LS 275-55-20 They are not the lowprofile try of tires. My last truck had very low profile tires and didn't ride this rough. The only thing that was done to the truck was 2" drop shackles, maybe someone else has install shackles on there truck.
