Does anyone know where it is located? My 97 neon is not turning over and it was running fine 2 days ago. i had jumped on it pretty hard and no fuel is being delivered to the fuel rail. any advice given is a great help.
theres an AutoShutDown relay under the hood in the PowerDistCenter (fuse box). Then theres an immobilizer under the dash above the climate controls but this is more for anti-theft.
how far above the climate controls is the immobilizer and how would i know if it's tripped and as for the auto shutdown relay goes, how would i know if that was triggered? but with relays once power is removed it should go back to normal correct?
its under the dash and from what the FSM says it sould have a security light that flashes and a chime when you try and start (only if its in the lock position).
swap the horn relay with the fuel pump relay before you go to the ASD
well, it's not an electrical issue, all the relays are good. it's a fuel issue, i put starter fluid in the intake and it fired right up. I think it is the filter.
Can you hear the fuel pump prime the car before when the key in the ON position? The 97-99 has the pressure regulator/filter along with the strainer in the tank.
the "immobilizer" is only on neons with the anti-theft/keyless entry option....most neons dont have it...
i would assume that your fuel pump just went out
the pump is fine, you can hear it prime up while you're in the cabin. it's the fuel filter/ pressure regulator. there is no fuel even making it into the fuel rail. and i shook the fuel filter while it was still connected and it started for a second.
