I voted for the new Challenger, as well, for the same reasons + My brothers 70 Charger RT 440 gets 5-8 mpg, at best. If he's playing around and doing a little stop light drag strip, he's gotten as little as 1 (not a misprint) mpg. The only thing not stock is the 9" rear end. It has a the factory engine and TorqueFlite tranny. Also, the thing has a rougher ride than a Massey Furgeson and if you try to take a corner at the recommended speed, the body is leaning so bad, your door mirror is almost dragging the ground from the body roll. It is hot inside and has no a/c (not OEM, so my brother isn't going to add it). If you hit a pot hole, the rear end jumps 4 feet to the side. It goes in a straight line like an F-4 hitting the afterburners and looks more muscular than a young Swartzenneger. The car is absolutely brutal in all the good ways...and bad ways that muscle cars are.
The new Challenger will do everything the old Charger/old Challenger will do on their best day and not leave your kidneys hurting for days and without the sweat running down the crack of your-you know what. And it is a beautiful machine.
