Chugging/missing/backfire???
Well my truck has been doing this weird chugg/miss thing and its bugging the crap outta me. It only does it when i am cruising at a steady speed and the torque converter is locked up. Also when it does it and i try to give it some gas to get going itll backfire. its throwing me for a loop. I think it might be a bad cat, bad plugs, bad coil, so somthign else. No CEL light at all. Ive already changed the TPS the 2nd week i bought it(bout 3 months ago) so i dont think thats it(that still didnt fix my surging at highway speeds completely, it helped but didnt fix). So anyone have any ideas?
Also the trucks cat doesnt rattle, i can hit it with a small hammer and it sounds solid. It has 183k on the clock but it not the accual miles, the real miles are a ??????.

Check to make sure your wires are all good and routed properly. When I had a bad wire or two on my 5.2L Dakota, it felt almost normal around town, but when I tried to get on it above 45-ish, it really struggled and "chugged", although it never backfired. The routing is very important, as mis-routed wires can cause crossfires.
Could be a bad cat. Just cause the cat doesn't rattle, doesn't mean its good. Get it tested by a reputable exhaust place.
