I don't know much, but this has happened to my 2001 Durango RTfour times...
Well twice it was the motors and twice it was the cables.
Hopefully it's not either for you! Either way, you should be able to take the panel off and leave it UP until you can fix it, if that makes sense?
Good luck, You can go to auto zone and buy a manual for your truck and it will show you EVERYTHING. I love mine... I have it on PDF, downloaded it for free from somewhere on the WWW, but I don't remember where from. There are diagrams for every I mean Every part on your truck in there.
GOOD LUCK!!

I should have paid more attention to details on my windows when I took the panels off to replace/repair my speakers. If your D is cable based, you may have to replace the whole assembly similar to alot of import cars like Toyota and Nissan. They sell the assemblies with and without the motors. I used to booked a website that had all the assemblies you can buy on the cheap, better than going to your local pick and pull yard.

Which window exactly is the one that broke?

Here is a listing for the window regulators only for the front windows of the durango. this comes with motors. Trying to find the site that had it without motors to save a quite a bit of money unless your motors are shot.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RH5UCE/...p;linkCode=asn

Same price for either Left/Right Front assemblies. cheapest price so far on the web and so far, I have been unable to find an assembly without the motor to lower the price down.

Price for all the assemblies including the rear windows:

Swab it depends on the junkyard but the cheapest ones tend to be the ones that you pull the parts yourself. Just pull the door apart first to see what you need and go to town.

Hate to rehash a old thread but today, my driver's window broke. It started when I roll the window down, heard some sounds like the glass is scratching against something but isn't. When I rolled the window up, you hear a loud pop, then window fell down.

Went out and google the net for a couple of hours bargain hunting for the cheapest price window regulator. Unfortunately you will not be able to buy a window regulator without the motor. So for the complete assembly with motor, this website has it for the lowest price as they do not charge for shipping.

https://www.am-autoparts.com/AM/Wind.../Durango/2000/

Also, they have a 5% coupon code (google for it) to get it a little cheaper. My part is suppose to arrive before the end of next week. Good thing I have a second car to drive! Cold front is over DFW right now and it is bone chilling out here with the winds howling!
