Just had my AC checked out. Same problem as you. Here's the solution...DO NOT LET THE WIFE DRIVE YOUR D!!!!! J/K!!! Seriously, I had mine done over the weekend. Have your mech check the A/C condenser in front of your radiator, mine had a leak and was replaced the same day and my A/C is blowing strong and cold now. Or you may have a leak in your line. Anyone else with advice?

Sounds like you are low on freon.

A $90 trip to the grease wrench shop down the street for a vac pull down of the AC system and a recharge and you may be good to go as long as there are no leaks. Get that done and check back with us if it returns to warm any time soon after the professional recharge.

If what indy and others recommend does not solve the issue, and the system itself seems to be running within normal conditions, it may be your blend door not working properly.

Well, at 54K mi. the compressor had to be replaced along with the expansion valve, receiver drier/accumulator assembly, plus refrigerant, also frigi quiet (what's that?). So, parts were 493.00 and labor 330.00. The local garage did the work, ya'll think this sounds reasonable ?? Thanks!

Sounds like they threw it all out and installed everything new almost. At least they were certain to get it. I can't possibly imagine at 54k everything was shot. No way. Anyways, glad to hear you got it fixed one way or another.

Same here, kinda hard to believe the whole system (minus inside coils). The only time you have to go this far if the compressor itself burnt out. If the compressor burns out, you would have to find out why. Usually comtaminated freon is the main cause due to leaks or something. Since you went this far into repairing the a/c, I would inspect your condenser coil (located in front of radiator) and make sure it is not pitted too much from road debris. If the condenser is beaten up pretty good, I would highly recommend you get this coil replaced. Else you may revisit another complete rebuild in the future.

I don't believe in any kinds of additives to put in a freon system to make it quieter or run smoother, etc. never been proven, just like most of those other oil additive for your engine oil. Most of them don't work.
