Default Repalced U Joints cannot get drive shaft back in

1999 Ram 1500 5.2 extended cab. Removed drive shaft and replaced leaking rear seal and U Joints, this is a one piece drive shaft. Now for what ever reason cannot for the life of me get the drive shaft back in the truck. When I place the front drive shaft yoke onto the trans spline and shove it forward it bottoms out and does not allow me enough clearence for the rear joint to slip into the rear end yoke.
It is late at night and give up on it for now. Would it matter if the parking brake is on? Just thinking of that but not sure if it matters.

Your saying that the driveshaft won't slide forward far enough for the ujoint to clear the yoke on the rear? That doesn't make any sense to me. All you did was replace the ujoints right?! Oh wait I see you changed the pinion seal on the rear diff. Are you sure you have the yoke back on correctly? That is the only thing that would make sense as to why you can't clear it now. Can you take a pic of the rear diff. yoke and post it? That would allow us to see if it is on right.

the seal may not be in correctly, take it off and check it to make sure its in the right location and didn't push too far back into the hole that the yoke slides into (don't know the name of it but you know what i mean). and by bottoms out do you mean the shaft on the yoke goes all the way in until the part with the u-joints hit or do you mean that the end of the yoke hits the bottom of the hole? which seal did you change? the pinion seal or the one on the back of the transfer case.

Did you get a small stone or debris in the end of the spline tube for the tranny? if so this would make it bottom out quickly...

Thanks for the responses, found the problem apparently the drive shaft bounced around some and the bushing at the end of the trans worked loose and would not allow the shaft to be installed. Will remove rear trans housing and replace bushing.
