Ok, so the remote is a two button black box.

Googling the 1-800 number I concluded that the remote (and, therefore, presumably the remote door opener) is from Directed Electronics (
http://www.directed.com), makers of Viper. That, however, is all I know.
Problem Synopsis: The remote door opening is no longer working (the remote seems to be fine, still having power (red light) and having had the battery changed), and I am trying to figure out what receiver/controller is installed in the car and where it is located so I can check its status (looking, for instance, for shorts or shorted out fuses). Any help is appreciated.
