the part of the system that makes it the toughes to home bake a CAI is the mass air flow sensor. Its the black, oddly shapened piece in the first kit in the bottom right of the picture. most people who have gone with these low price systems will tell you to make sure to get one with a metal MAFS adapted, but it looks like this one has a plastic piece. will it make any difference?the plastic ones are supposed to break easier, but its 39 bucks...who cares if one piece breaks? you used to be able to buy the metal adapters by themselves on ebay..not sure about now.

honestly, i have an ebay cheapo intake, and all i did was add a K&n filter. im sure that the flow is no worse than the 300+ dollar name brand intakes...that one is pretty nice with the black couplers..i got blue because that was all they had..they dont really fit in with my engine bay scheme but i dont show it off much, so i dont worry about it.

in short, the full length kit will help as much as any CAI, and as for the short ram, i wouldnt spend the money, because youre still drawing in engine bay air. im sure that its better than the stock air system, but not as good as the CAI. it looks to be similar to mine, and mine puts the air filter right behind the LF tire. and yes, ive driven the car in DRIVING rains, and ive never had any issues with "hydrolock"..i think that its a myth.
