Default 2002 caravan A/C problems--HELP !!!

OK ... My A/C only blowes warm air , no cold air , I took it to a mechanic
he recharged the system with freon and dye for $179.00
The freon leaked out in 2 hours . I brought back so he could see where the leak was .He replaces the compressor inlet and outlet seals o-rings and say it's fixed for another $300.00 . I leave and in 2 hours the freon has leaked out again , no cold air .So i'm kinda gettin ticked off now and I bring the van back again . He checks it again for a couple of hours and tells me that i now need a front condensor and a rear evaporator .
The quote is $1487.63 to fix . $1032.46 for parts and $455.17 for labor.
I checked for the parts on the net and they come in way cheaper than $1000.00 ...more like $400.00 .
Shouldn't the mechanic have done a pressure test on the system after replacing the compressor inlet and outlet seals o-rings ? Then he would have known that there was still a leak ?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated ...Thank
