I tried that with a concrete light pole base once. I was backing up about 5 mph and turned too sharp. My bumper didn't look so hot. Twisted it like aluminum foil.

Unless its a Buckstop or Ranch hand bumper, brush guards carry the damage into the rest of the ram.
Come to think of it...I had a bud hit a deer a few back His truck had a brush guard. As the main rails folded back into the grill and hood they acted as a guide and tossed the poor critter right into the windshield.
