gas leaks out when filling up

Default gas leaks out when filling up

Has anyone had this problem when trying to fill the tank ,it leaks out all over the side of the truck.It pees me off.

It sounds like either the pumps are screwed up or user error. The pump is supposed to sense when the tank is full and click off but if you top off it's your fault.

No, do some searching around here and you'll see it's a common problem. One of the many that dodge won't recall and fix.

Yep. I have to wash and wax that part of my truck after every fill up.

Yeah, there was a big thread around somewhere about the fuel leaking out after people fill up and go around corners and such.

Yeah... I guess I'm what he ^^^ said. I've never had the problem either filling up or spilling going around corners...

Have not had the problem with the truck, but have had it in the past. Because of it, I got in the habit of never "topping off" after the pump clicks off. I always pay with a C.C. anyway, so I could care less if it stops at like $47.73...

I always ease up on the lever when it gets near the top of the tank. and I round it up to the next dollar after that.
