octane boost is just a hoax, pour some rubbing alcohol in your tank for the same affect. If your pinging on 87, you have a timing issue.
Run a full fresh tank of 93, and I will guarantee your issue is removed. Either your truck is running hot, and the 87 is pre detonating like mentioned, and the higher gas will eliminate this, or your running into a tps issue.
Run the higher premium, espcially if your running the 93 tune on 87 gas, the tune is adjusting your timing.
