When you HIT your BRAKES and get any type of Vibration or Wobble.....This means your rotors are warped!
Death wobble as everyone knows it as is simply a wobble at all speeds and gets worse the faster you go. it's very noticeable in 4wd
If your rotors aren't the problem. Worn out tierods can cause steering wobble when brakes are applied as well, but generally people would experience "wander" while on the highway if the tierods are bad.

Def. your rotors. Powerslot makes a good rotor. AIRRAM has good prices. New rotors and Good pads will run $250 for the front axle. Good pads means NOT semi-metallic. Ceramic, kevlar and other exotic materials are what should be used.

I got Duralast Rotors and Ceramic Duralast Cmax Gold Brake Pads all for 154.00 and I brake so peacefully & I have a lot more control over my truck over stock and I had the same shake it would go away and come back when braking... Like Dirty said its the rotors... But when your down there check the tie rods... I dont need performance rotors cause i just commute to work & occasionally haul...
