Leaking Antifreeze
My truck is leaking Antifreeze. Problem is, I cannot locate the leak. I am having to watch my reservior and have to refill it about every few months. It's a very slow leak. I took the truck to a couple places check for leaks and they cannot find it. Once in a while when the truck is idling, I can smell the antifreeze but still cannot find the leak. The leak must be small enough that it may hit the block and evaporate right away.

try some dye in coolant - good auto parts store will set you up.
floresent dye ..... a black light will aid it locating dye.
if applicable - rear heat check the Y in heater hose back of eng...
A/c evap drain if a heater core issue
A coolant pressure tester will allow you to check easily on a cold eng..available as a loaner or rental at autob pats sstores

hum? smell it and no signs anywhere. Well usually a leak even small leaves a trail of something like dried antifreeze. Perhaps a small leak in the heater core? this is why you are able to smell it with such a small leak? other wise it would be actually pretty hard to smell antifreeze leak small as ur experiencing I would think. Bad radiator cap?

If their is a leak and its evap'n it'll leave a trace of yellow/white residue. Generally i'd say check the weep on the pump, oil, rad, bypass line under ac, thermo housing, freeze plugs, and lastly transmission.
Mine only showed on the tranny due to a bad heater core, my 99 has a hole out the fire wall and it dripped on the trans . Doubt its your problem but heres a few snaps
