Default Governor pressure sensor

I got a code the other day it was code 45 - Governor pressure sensor volts too low. would this code cause the truck to drive like a damn brick?( mashing the gas and not doing anything) from a stop light it sounds like it really has to work to get to normal driving speed.

Is this the problem or is it something more?

Roughly how much would it cost for parts to do it myself? or is it one of the things a shop should look at?

Thanks,
Jeff

sometimes this will cause the transmission to stay in 2nd gear when stopped, so when you accelerate, it feels like the truck is really struggling. try not to push it too hard when this happens or you will have a transmission overhaul bill on top of your current problems.

Try doing a search for Governor pressure sensor, it is a VERY common problem.

Nah, it's not hard to do at all. Look in the DIY section, I think Xray put up a DIY replacing all that and it was cheap. If you truck is giving you trouble shifting, try going into manual and see if that helps. That's not a solution, but it will get you home so you can get this fixed.

Don't think it ever made it to DIY, here it is

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...d-install.html

Should probably consider replacing both sensors while your in there ,,, And possibly installing a drain plug as well.
Replace with a new filter and quality ATF +4, hopefully that will cure the problem.
