Default 1500 V8 to V10 Engine Swap

i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a worn out 360 and i just bought a new chrysler v10 motor and i am wondering how easy it is to drop the v10 into the 1500 half ton, and if everything will bolt up and line up and if the drive shafts are going to work from the previous 360 motor, and the truck already has a 3 inch lift if that does anything to help the swap

thanks jake

Default V10 in a 1500....

Ya i know its probably a waste of time and im gonna get flammed on hard core for even mentioning it. But I can get my hands on a low milage V10 for a pretty good price. Comes with everything, tranny, pcm, and headers.
Had the crazy thought when I found the engine, I wonder what that would be like in my truck?? Torque monster... It would be a toy, nothing more. Not expecting a DD with milage haha.
Just wondering what everyone thinks.
Like I said its just a toy, and somethin different to do. I have all the time in the world to play around in the shop with it.
I imagine id have to do some upgrading; suspension, rearend etc.

Feed back!?

Aside from the headache of transferring all the stuff you already mentioned, I doubt your axles will hold up very long with the V10. There's a reason that motor was only available in a 2500.

I moved your thread to a similar one. That guy never came back to tell us how it worked out. Might be in a sanitarium after trying.

Theres just something about the thought of having a V10 between the fenders hahaha.
Shed be a wild lil truck. But I could see it getting ripped apart if you werent easy on it.

theres a guy on dodge talk that has a v10 2500 and a 5.2 1500......he already swapped the 5.2 into the 2500 and the v10 will be in the 1500 soon.....he stayed with the same year model on both trucks and it was pretty much a bolton deal....he had to change out instrument clusters b/c the tach signal was different tho
