Trans service how many quarts?
Anyone know how many quarts I need when I drop my trans pan and change the filter? (I know flushing it is best) but at my shop we don't have a flush machine. On our cars we just drop the pan and change the filter and fluid that was in the pan.
The reason I am doing this is two days ago my transmission started shifting weird. When my transmission is cold it shifts fine, but it seems once it warms up through at least 2 or three gears when taking off it will sometimes go up to 3k rpms plus before it will shift to the next gear. It seems if I let off the gas it will shift to the next gear, but it shifts kinda hard. I'm not sure if the fluid or filter has ever been changed but I think it needs it. The fluid looks like it needs changed but the level is fine. The fluid doesn't smell burnt or anything. Anyone ever ran into anything like this???
I have also been getting a code P0740 for the TCC Solenoid so I'm going to probably replace that solenoid while I have the pan off. (Hopefully its not the torque converter itself)
I'm a GM technician so I don't know a lot about these Chrysler transmissions.

lol come on rcman i know that. However I need atleast a ball park though because you are supposed to check the fluid level when the trans is WARM in neutral. I'm not about to get my transmission warm/ hot and not know how low or high the fluid is. That a recipe for disaster lol transmissions don't like heat (low on fluid). Its not like changing your oil lol.

ATF+4 (Type 9602). Very important that you use this, not ATF+3 or lower, and not Dexron or Mercon!!! (Note: Mobil1 Synthetic or Amsoil Synthetic can be used)
The 42RE - about 4 quarts for filter replacement, about 10 quarts for "overhaul fill."
The 46RE- about 4 quarts for filter replacement, about 10 quarts for "overhaul fill."
The 45RFE - about 14 quarts for "overhaul fill."

just did a quick google search Doesn't make them, or me, right, just throwing it up there
