Default Whats the best tar remover?

My friend own a Dodge Neon and he loves it. He went through a construction zone somewhere and don't how got tar on the bottom of the doors and fenders. It's a well know fact that tar can cause huge amounts of damage to a car paint and very tough to remove. Does anyone know of any products that will remove it easily.

Any product that easily available at Walmart store will be greatly appreciated.

Gas will strip your clearcoat and can damage the paint...might as well use a shotgun,

Stoner's Tarminator is a good safe tar remover. It obviously strips wax too so you need to rewax any areas.

WD-40. It probably isn't tar, it is primer, or emulsiphied asphalt. I'm an engineer and I have done a lot of paving, we always use WD-40 on a rag and wipe it off. Or, I should have said this first, try fabric softener. To clean the trucks we use fabric softener in the dump truck beds. The workers all use diesel fuel to clean their boot soles, but fabric softener is safer and smells less.

EcoLAB LAR!!! Label and adhesive remover! We use this stuff at CarMax and it is the business! Not to bad on price either around $4 by the bottle from your EcoLAB rep. But if you are looking at stuff you can buy at Wal-Mart then it is thinner all the way. Use it on a microfiber cloth and LIGHTLY rub the surface and away it goes!

WD-40 or Trans fluid, soak small rag, rub and shake rag to snap the collected gravel out.
