Default Slow Start

Alright guys, I have posted about this before, and Im still having problems. Got a 00 Ram 1500 w/360...when I go to start it after it has sat for awhile, it takes longer to start. It will turn over like normal (not slow) but takes about 5 secs to start up. My fuel pump is kicking on. I have noticed when I take the cap off the shraeder port, some gas comes out, like its leaking pressure a little bit. I replaced the valve core in there, and it still does the same thing. I need to do the Hughes plenum upgrade...would a blown plenum cause slow starts? TPS? IAC? Im lost. The truck runs great, just slow starting.

Any help would be awesome! Thanks

try mashing the gas a little bit. if that helps, it points to the IAC.

how are you on plugs, cap, rotor, wires? up to date or in need of? if the plugs are fouled they may have to cook off/warm up a few rounds before it fires up.

read https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-starting.html

with the truck running, check out the evap purge solenoid. it is behind the passenger headlight on the fender, it has a green valve cap on it.
when mine is running it has a continuous clicking noise that you can feel if you put your finger on it.
another way to check it out is to remove it and try to blow through one side, then the other. if you blow through it and it doesn't plug up then it is probably bad.

This morning I mashed the gas pedal while cranking, and it still took awhile to start. Does that mean its probably not my IAC? I will look up procedures in my Chilton for checking the IAC, MAP sensor and TPS. Also need to find time to take it to the auto hobby shop on base and check the fuel pressure. I wanna get the hughes and SCT, but need to figure out this problem before I spend money on goodies.

Thanks
