Floating axles, you would remove 10 to 12 bolts on the end of the rear drums and put the axles out. Or remove the rear inspection cover and remove the C Clips that hold the axles into the rear carrier. I don't really know from what years that you can use from, but i would guess 1996 up to the last year they made the ram van, which i think was 2002 or 2003.

The three most common axles for our vans are the 8 3/8 commonly called the 8 1/4, the 9.25, and HD 1 ton models can come with a Dana 40 or 60.
I had the 8 3/8 and bought a junkyard 9.25 and had to have that rebuilt.
This link will help you identify what you have by pictures of the diff cover.
Lots of other really good info in this site as well.

Good luck

The vehicle's build tag (sticker under hood, usually) will tell you what differential was installed at the factory.

Does the list below represent what can be direct bolt-in w/o modifications for the 96 dodge van B250 with a 9.25? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I replaced a 1989 8 3/8 with a 9.25 from a '96 van . The only mods I had to do was a different U joint on the driveshaft to accomidate the different sized yokes.
Just measure the distance between the leaf spring flats. And overall length.
If you are looking for the same ratio, and there is no tag. It is printed on the ring gear itself. Or you can count the teeth on the ring and divide by the number of teeth on the pinion.
As far as I know, any dodge van axle from 71 to 2003 will interchange.
And if you are looking for a junkyard axle, you could luck out and get a good one, or get one louder than the one you seek to replace, which happened to me.
