Default Battery light comes on after start up.

The battery light comes on in my 2001 dodge caravan when I start it in the morning. Its winter over here so if it would be a battery issue I think that it wouldnt start. The light eventually turns off after several minutes. Has anyone else seen this issue on their van?

Do you have a volt gauge in the cluster? Does it read normal? There is a software update for the PCM for battery lamp illumination (TSB 18-023-03) if the battery is ok and the charging voltage is normal.

You didn't cut and paste the entire tsb??? Be aware to have a TSB done, you have to pay for it... these are not freebies like a recall. All you need to do is go to autozone and they will do a free electrical system test to see if the battery and alternator are working. If it's ok and the light is still acting up and you like any other dodge owner with no money, just ignore the light because you already know everything checks out. However if you are the rare exception to afford having the computer updated then by all means go for it,

no, I have every TSB and recall at my disposal. It's just that you cut and paste just about everything, I was totally surprised you didn't do it for this posting
