Hey guys new around here and need some help. The other day on the way home from work my girlfriends 99 Avenger started acting up. My stepdad brought over his tester and got the following codes

po734 gear 4 ratio incorrect
po715 input/turbine speed A circuit malfunction
po733 gear 3 ratio incorrect
po731 gear 1 ratio incorrect
po700 transmission control system malfunction

At first i was like oh no but then thought about it and figured it was either a speed sensor of solenoid(sp?) going out. Anyone have any suggestions. Any and all help is much appreciated

 

Welcome to DF bud. Is your gf's car in limp mode?...stuck in second gear? Check the ATX relay on the firewall. How old is the tranny fluid? See any flakes in it? Is it MOPAR AFT+3 or "generic". Of course the speed sensor could be bad like you stated too.

 

Thanx man. Yeah it is in limp mode. she was trying to drive 55 and was doing 5k rpm until i started yelling at her lol. silly girl.

Anyway everything on it is stock and the fluid looks decent. I am going to go get all the fluids changed and total tune up tomorrow. would do it myself but time is an issue for me then. I will check into the ATX relay thing though. Thanks for your help man

 

tomorrow i am going to replace the speed sensor on it. Alot of people i know think that may be a key issue in whats up with her tranny. anyway wish me luck my fingers are crossed

ok so i put in the new speed sensor and everything is as it should be It even made it run better thasn before it really started to screw up. Thanks for your input though man
