Had the car check out today by a friend's dad (with moving and the wedding $$ is tight). Turns out the compression in cylinder 4 is low(cylinder 1-130, cylinder 4-60, & cylinder 6-110). At this point I'm not sure if it's worth trying to fix. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also I was told that it would be ok to still drive my car as is without doing too much more damage......is this true?

With a reading that low the rings or cylinder walls likely scored ... the cost to rebuild the motor can be pretty pricey ... If the rest of the cars in good shape tranny ect I'd say the 3.0 swap is the way to go ... Motors can be had in the $600 price range ...

Unhappy

I'm kinda heartbroken.....in the last 8 months I've put so much into this car. I spent $650 in January to get the tie rods done and spent $3200 to rebuild the transmission.

Just in case anyone is wondering.......my problem turned out to be a cracked exhaust valve, a burnt exhaust valve, and 2 burnt intake valves all in cylinder 4. Total job cost by me providing the Dodge dealer parts $1,437 vs $2,200 for the dealer to find parts. It took them 9 weeks to do the job....so I don't think we'll be seeing them anytime soon.
