Try cking the axle shaft nuts first, they maybe loose. 160 to 180 ft pounds. Also ck your motor mounts too.

Can somebody give me a quick rundown of whats involved getting the trans out?? I have good tech skills, but never really been into FWD stuff before. I have pulled lots of RWD trans and do alot of offroad work on trucks. I have replaced the timing belt, water pump, etc in the car already so I know a little bit about it. You say I have to pull the front suspension??

There are three ways to pull it ...
First : Pull motor tranny out the top ,.. unbolt everything and disconnect motor mounts/tranny mounts and use a cherry picker to manuever it out ...

Second: drop motor tranny out the bottom... you'll need to "lift" the body over it

Third: disconnect the tranny and manuever it out by itself ... Very hard as there is limited room and major dissassembly of suspension needed

gosh dangit... i think i have the same problem...

It's getting there at least.. i'll start my car up start heading down the road and generally when it's not warmed up yet it does a little burst of rpm and sounds like it kicks hard into the next gear even though i give it the same amount of gas, the car rocks forward and back a little bit too when that happens, after that it's normal the rest of the drive...

any ideas?

how much is replacing a tranny gunna cost me if it goes bad?

ok, so the trans from the 98 sebring was sold. I found another yard with a 95 cirrus that has 65k on it for 350. I asked for sure and he said that it would swap.....!!?!?

So....

Will a 95 cirrus auto trans fit my 97 avenger? I would like to know for sure before I go through the hassle of buying it and it not working.

Thanks

Maybe I can swap the sensors out of my old unit??
