Default White smoke/burning oil

Ok, 96 dodge avenger 118k miles

i hit something hard and popped a tire. As soon as i cranked the car for the 1st time after i put the spare on smoke was just billowing out the tailpipe.

That was a month ago, its not billowing of course now but is smoking everyday and calms a little after driving it but has burned 2 quarts of oil since then.

No oil is leaking on the ground
its not leaking from the oil filter or pan
my temp gauge is reading normal
feels as if i have a loss of power too.

What could make my tailpipe put out a white smoke and burn so much oil from hitting something and popping a tire?

Please help me!!!!! I'm hoping its not a head gasket. Im so broke.

I'd check the spark plugs for oil in the wells ...

If thats not it run a compression check , might be a bad weak cylinder

did a compression check

it was low. I was told it should be at about 130 and mine was at about 100

do yall think I might have worn oil/piston rings? or something of that nature?

how much does something like that cost?

low compression can be leaky rings /bad sleeves or even bad valve seals ////

any of these will require a complete teardown to locate ... unless you pull the heads and see a valve trouble ..
cost varies depending on parts needed... a 3.0 swap might be the better $$$

yea, $$$ is a huge object i cannot lift right now haha.

BUT!!! come tax season its whatever. I actualy want to go ahead and throw a brand new motor in there instead of spending a bunch of money fixing a motor that can have problems still...soo

my question, is it possible to put another motor in there thats not a mitsubishi?? i have heard horrible bashing of them.

or you say 3.0? so i can put a more powerful motor in there?

anyone know a ballpark figure of replacing even just the same mitsubishi 4cylinder 2.0L ENGINE? about how much am i looking?
3,000?
4,000?

the 3/0 is a mitsumotor as well ///I spent $600 on mine ///
The 420A is also a mitsu motor and it comes stock in the 4 cylinder avenger so swpping it is also doable ...
