ya it wont shift at all no matter what yall tri cuz the computer does all the shifting. it could be a sensor, solinoid, wiring, comptuer, relay, fuse, and some other stuff, yall can guess but them good scanners is the only way to really fix the thing. if there aint enouf info, then its all a stab in the dark. kinda like going to the doc with a broken bone, they dont just guess if its broke, they use tools to diagnose like an x-ray.

It is a 2.5, 99. Bad venge - you are correct. It does move think it winds up to about 40 mph and that's it. Reverse is fine. Circumventor - I posted the question just like everyone would. " I can't be the only one who has experienced this". I'm not expecting a catch all statement to be my savior, but for opinions on what they might have experienced.

I know that any electrical problem will cause this problem, but as stated a scanner is the only why to determine that.

You should replace input and output speed sensors, TCM, Solenoid pack, trans relay and range switch assembly. Or just get it properly scanned so you don't waste the time or materials. I see, in just about every transmission post, people are into tossing parts at these transmission problems and lots of suggestions to do so. Yet this process rarely fixes the the problem. A quick scan, not a code reader which only reads PCM and not TCM, doesn't cut it. A scanner is the necessarry tool
