Hey everyone - I have a 87 Dakota with the 2bbl 3.9L and I'm getting around 13 miles to the gallon wether I trash it, or drive it like a grandma... what is everyone else getting?
i have an 87 4x4.. just swapped the 3.9.. but before that i got around 12 to 13.. the 87's were carb'ed, they started getting improvements as the dakota line aged a bit..
it's gonna sound crazy, but i have a 94 v6 3.9 magnum and my milage was like that, my computer read 02 sensors like crazy. but a couple weeks ago i changed my headlights switch and it fixxed everything, the light switch was bad and was pulilng power from everywhere else to run, so i'd check that and run a few gallons out to see how far you go
I have a 95 v6 5 speed 4wd with 3.55 gears and 31" tires and I average 12-14 in town driving 'normally'. I have bested 18mpg out of it on a mostly highway run, I think 20 is possible, but in town mileage is just terrible.
Around town my '92 3.9 2WD manual gets around 13-15 if I beat on it or let it idle a lot (especially this time of year to get it warm). If I behave it'll get 17. On the highway the highest I've gotten is 22, 19 with the bed loaded to level.
