Yeah, minor brain fart, I'd just replaced the front brakes, timing chain set, blower resistor, repaired the blower wiring since the previous owner bypassed it and reattached the muffler heat shield. You're correct, I blame fatigue on my behalf, it was the water temp sensor.

I have almost 160 miles on the head gaskets and everything is good so far! I had to change the radiator. A new one was 160$, I got a 1yr old used one out of a 5.2L 1996 dakota for 50$. No problems since! Gonna be changing the oil and running synthetics from now on. Will the synthetic oils have better or worse pressure than the conventional?

1996 Dakota 3.9L V6 Magnum
I just bought this yesterday from the original owner, it has 115275 miles on it, great shape, runs good, starts first time. Paid $800 for it and My son and I are going to mess around with it and improve it a little, the paint on hood and roof is flaking off, a little rust on those spots, but the rest of the body is straight. Tires are to small, going to upsize those when I find some rims to fit it..

It's been a while but the old kota got a fresh paint, and a cummins 4bt both still works in progress hopping to have it road legal this coming summer of 15 but it runs drives stops and does burnouts.

I really like the idea of the 4bt in a dakota. Thats cool
Here's my pickup. 92 body 94 engine. 4x4. Stock. I wana crank the torsion bars up a bit and put 31s on in the summer. Its gota 5.2 thats running well. Recently put the pushbar on, havent put lights on it yet.
I want to go through and paint it black where the mid section is beige.

Hi guys, I've been a member of this forum for several years now. I don't post much, I mostly lurk behind the scenes. Anyway, I thought it was about time I post a few pics of the old girl.
Here's a pic of my 92 3.9L 4x4 5 speed (currently 210,000km or 130,000 miles) when I first bought it about 4 years ago. Rusty roof, no hubcaps, stock size tires, and a little dirty.
And here are some more recent pics. The truck's been absolutely great to me the last 4 years. Extremely reliable and it's in fantastic shape (besides some minor rust and the peeling paint ). There's been a few minor changes since I took the first photo. I leveled the front end by cranking the torsion bars, put some 31" all terrains on it, painted some black box liner below the bump strips, installed a custom diamond plate accent on the door panels (got the idea on the forum somewhere), replaced the clutch, found some hub caps and plastidipped the rims matte black, and installed Hella Supertones.
Lately I've been fantasizing about swapping a 5.2 and an NV3500. I'm debating on if it's worth the effort/investment. But I do think it'd be a ton of fun to rebuild the 5.2 and repaint it, etc.
Let me know what you guys think!
