And clean out the bore in the TB where it installs with Qtips or something, if you have not done that already.

Sounds like the common problem of the truck not disengaging the lockup torque converter. Try this - shift the selector to 2nd when slowing to about 20 mph, it should disengage lockup and then you can stop smoothly.

The problem is caused by the solenoid pack inside the tranny, on the right side of the valve body. Its mounting screws come loose and fluid leaks past the check valve. The fix is to drop the pan, tighten the screws, replace pan and refill. Good idea to put some threadlocker on those (3) screws.
