That is true, they were shorter in the hood, but... ever heard of the Shelby Dakota? In 1989, Carroll Shelby took 1500 dakotas and put in a 318 with an electric pusher fan in front of the radiator... so they do fit.

87's didn't come with a V8 318. So it must be a motor swap. So it may not be done correctly. So make sure it starts and runs good. Or else you will be having to finish the work they didn't finish. But for the price it is not bad.

Well it wasnt swapped because its not currently in a vehicle, its an engine from another model in that year but i first need to call the guy for more information and i was also wondering
Would i be able to put the outer engine equipment from mine on it if it didnt come with or it didnt work, like my air conditioning compressure, my alternater, my power steering pump, or anythng else like that for that matter?

My guess would be if the dakota came with a V6 and the V8 is a LA engine then most of it all should work. But I don't know a hole lot of Pre-magnum engines.

Ok, heres another one,
I went to the junkyard today and asked them for an estament on how much they'd want for an 84-91 318 and tranny and they said around $550
Is that a good price for both? or not

My junkyard quoted me almost 800 for just the tranny....so to me, yea that would be a good price.

Ya that is probably for one. Your best bet is craigslist or your local U-Pull kind of junkyard. At my local U-Pull it is $200 for any tranny.
