That sounds like one of those ebay scams to me. Think about it... "quicker shifts"... your transmission is hydraulically controlled... no computer can make it shift faster. "Quicker throttle response"... you need to open up the intake and exhaust to suck more air in before that happens, a computer can't do that for you. "15 more mpg"... you can spend $5k on performance mods and drive around like Ms. Daisy is in the truck and you'll never see 15 more mpg... you're talking about almost doubling the gas milage of the truck. And the power gain claims are BS too.

My $0.02 is don't waste your time and money.

I didn't see the link, but I agree. You can use a PCM to get more power, but you won't get all of the stuff listed above. Or get headers and a PCM.

Which by the way, is there a V8 PCM?

I also didn't notice you are in a pre-magnum truck. Not sure how those work too well.

The v8s weren't available until 1991, so it would be a v6, and I don't know of any mopar performance computers for the pre-magnums, so I assume he is looking at aftermarket, which aren't worth the cost of the materials to make them.

No, its not lame as long as a couple more people who read it get the hint not to buy them. I'm tired of looking on ebay for parts and seeing page after page of BS chips. The mopar performance computers for the magnums do a good job of increasing power, especially with a couple bolt on mods, but with OBDII, the superchips tuners and similar programmers are actually really worth it from what I've heard. Never had one though.
